Penny PushUps

“A penny for your thought…”

Beginning September 1, 2013 it’s “A penny for a pushup!”

#PennyPushUps: “Supporting children with eye cancer by turning 1 penny into $$$, 1 pushup at a time.”

The Penny PushUps logo of a man doing pushups a penny appears on the right corner and 100 in the left.

Last September, which is Childhood Cancer Month, my family sponsored a fundraiser for Daisy’s Eye Cancer Fund. This organization, for which I am a Board member, provides support and spreads awareness of Retinoblastoma – a childhood cancer robbing children of sight and life.

I’ve discussed RB and the impact it has had on my life here in the past.

While our fundraiser last year earned over $650, between distribution issues and the nature of the fundraiser, we were limited in the amount of money we could raise.

So this year, we came up with something new. Something that will allow me to make a daily contribution to hopefully encourage you and others to donate.

For the entire month of September, I have committed to completing 100 pushups a day in 5 minutes or less. I am seeking donors to pledge a minimum of 1 penny per pushup. [For those of you who remember Crazy Eddie, please channel that voice now…] “Just $1 per day? That’s insane! That’s only $30 for the month.”

September being the 9th month and 30 being the last day, I’m shooting for a goal of $930.

I know what you are saying, “T, we can do better than that,” my feelings exactly!

I’m hoping you would consider:

  1. Donating
  2. Sharing – use the social media widgets here to forward this post to your networks.
  3. Support – Leave me a comment of support. Return here to follow my progress. I will post videos daily.

You can also follow me on Twitter and     InstaGram. Yeah, this blind brother has an InstaGram account now!

Don’t wait until September; you can pledge your support now.

Special thanks to my daughter, Riana Reid, for designing our logo.
