Nothing to Yahoo about!

When I first created my Yahoo account, I was sighted, and honestly I don’t think they were using CAPTCHA – the verification process that is used to reduce bot programs from creating user accounts to send spam. In most instances the verification process requires users to view an image in order to find and subsequently enter the text.

See the problem,?

Other organizations such as Google have modified their CAPTCHA process to include an audible code that the user can enter. While the effort on Google’s part is a start, the solution is not universal. Many individuals are not able to effectively use the audio verification process. The solution does not include deaf-blind computer users.

So all of this to say, take a moment out of your busy days to go on over and sign the Yahoo! Accessibility Improvement Petition.

Big shout out to Darrell Shandrow at Blind Access Journal for all the work he is doing to make the web accessible to blind people everywhere.
