SharePoint and Web Accessibility

Posted April 20th, 2008 by T.Reid

This article from Bruce Lawson’s personal site  : SharePoint and Web Accessibility is a great example of advocating for accessibility in technology.

After reading a article in a legal magazine, Mr. Lawson  wrote to inform the editors of a accessibility problem a piece of software the magazine was apparently praising.

Last month they had an article bigging up the wonders of SharePoint, so I wrote in to the editor asking why they hadn’t mentioned its accessibility problems. The editor asked me to write them an article; as their mag is subscription-only, I reproduce it here.

Not only did he do a great job pointing out the various issues, but he created the opportunity to inform an audience who is probably not familiar with the subject of accessibility.

And anyone who uses "bigging up" is ah ight (alright) with me!
