Woman saves baby’s life — by e-mail
This story shows not only the importance of sharing information, but also how awareness campaigns can make a difference.
One of two mothers who met online, sharing pictures of their babies recognized a white reflection in the eye of the other mom’s child. What would soon be diagnosed as Retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer, was something the woman recalled reading about.
From the article:
I’d seen a news article here in the U.K a few years ago, something similar, and it just sparked a memory of that. Also, the word ‘cancer’ sprang to mind with the same memory. So obviously I was quite concerned and just decided to do more research.
As someone impacted by Retinoblastoma , I know the importance of an early diagnosis. In fact, that’s why I am here today.
Good catch!
