The Accessible Spy Museum
I know there are many reasons to visit D.C., but for me, an accessible Spy Museum is one that may actually get me to make the trip.
C’mon, I know I am not the only one who wanted to be a spy when they were young. Ahem, I mean younger!
I heard about this museum a few years ago and really didn’t get too excited about it because I figured it was inaccessible. But according to the PR Newswire press release via Earthtimes.org, The International Spy Museum will soon be making some enhancements.
The press release points out:
The museum fully cooperated with the Department’s investigation and has demonstrated an effort to find innovative solutions to work toward compliance. It developed a proprietary technology for closed captioning of its audiovisual presentations, and has retained experts to help provide effective access for visitors who are blind or have low vision. When it reaches full compliance with the settlement agreement, the Spy Museum will become a national museum leader in welcoming visitors with disabilities.
When they are fully compliant, I think I will be making a trip to the D.C. area!
